Interviewing Tells

So, I am posting this under survival prep because as far as I am concerned, my survival is contingent on getting out of the US before TSHTF. That means I will need a job in a foreign country.

As luck would have it, I am interviewing with the global HR director (who is British) to work in Prague.

Does anyone have any background on how to interview with corporate-type Brits? Any interview/interrogation advice? I know the basics (mimic sitting position, don't cross arms) but culturally, does anyone have any suggestions?

Not totally sure on this but I think when you introduce yourself, you start off with a " Hello Govener".

Wear cowboy boots and a ranger buckle and then act like a high bred aristocrat.

ROFLMAO

Ok, well, I'll take the be-honest, listen, be-yourself approach.

Also, given my tormenting GG about his scrubs, I decided to play it safe and bought a new suit today from Brooks Brothers. With tax, alterations, and 2-day delivery all in at $753 (their suits are on sale....$200 off).

Wish me the best because if I don't get this job it's back to the ex-pat job search for another 2 months.

Be yourself, present well, be polite, and don't swear. If the job is good enough, invest in a nice suit.

Unfortunately some Brits will have pre-conceived ideas about Americans; being loud, brash, tactless, and stupid. Do what you can to not reinforce these ideas.

It varies from person to person, some Brits are very easy to get on with, others will have high expectations of you, and expect very civil conduct while on the job and when you're around them.

Hopefully he is worldly wise, and accepting of other people's differences, but you cannot assume that, until you sound him out a bit. So be on your best behaviour, but also be honest to yourself about who you are.

Once you get past the HR Director, then you will meet the people you actually work with and he won't matter so much anymore in your day to day life.

the Welsh don't like the English or the Scots.
The Scots and English don't like the Welsh.
The East of Scotland doesn't like the west.
The West doesn't like the East.
The islanders don't like anyone.
The Scousers(from Liverpool) are liked by no one.
The cockneys don't like anyone else.
If he's Scottish, religion (catholic/protestant) will be all important.

ahahahaaaaaaaaaa.....usually, it's hard to tell when a Brit is making a joke...but even I got that one !!

Well I reckon if it comes down to it, the whole wide world will be in the same shit so you might as well just stick around here and worry about how you gonna survive in the land you live on now.
